Horizon Bleu (French)
is a mega project comparing to all previous albums. In 2006, the
artiste was invited to produce original soundtracks for a TV documentary
produced by the Chinese National Cultural Museum. He has joined the
filming crew to visit places including Tibet, Inner Mongolia and
Xinjiang. Before he could complete the soundtracks, he went to South
America in 2008 for a vacation. Where he traveled Brazil, Paraguay and
Argentina. The primary attraction was the Amazon Rainforest, but it
wasn't enough. He borrowed a four wheel drive and had driven 2000km
(Argentina) himself just to take photos and search for inspirations.
Indeed, the series of magnificent photos did inspire him musical-wise.
The music was born 3 months after the journey.
But why not Horizon Blue? " Before arriving Brazil, my flight had to make a stop at Charles De Gaulle in France. As I made my way to catch the transition flight, the sun rose from the horizon. I've captured that via the reflection on a Boeing 747/400 nearby. This journey truly extend and expand my horizon. Giving my album a French title is somehow, like a memorial." ~Peter Lai.
Relaxing music with beautiful melodies. The music is quite a transformation comparing to his previous compositions. More thoughtful in contents and package design.
