It becomes a
classic! This first mood music album that was primary an experimental
release. Through this album, Peter Lai set foot in instrumental music
scenery while still held the title as the youngest pop record producer
in Hong Kong. When he later (1995) met his manager , Mr. Sampei Yugami
commented, "the music is too matural for a songwriter of his age." It is
proven to be ture that these compositions were ahead of trend. The
songs have been adopted by TV dramas and as background music for over 10
years since the day of release. The current available CD is the 3rd
edition.
The album includes various music styles; but follows only one rule - Asian music elements in pop style. Although the album title was later translated to FATE, but it was originally titled as Fate of the Autumn Leaves. By that, audience should expect the 'tone colour' of the album is nostalgic, blue and sad. This album has broken and surpassed all local sales records of similar products. Peter Lai's instrumental music became popular because of the song titled Passer-by '過客' from this album. The song has appeared on a number of TV dramas (as background soundtrack) for a period of 6 years (excluding re-airing) in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and China.
